Dwr Cymru Welsh Water

Mid WalesStretching up into the breathtaking Elan Valley and Brecon Beacons National Park, our mid Wales region, is surrounding by some of Wales’ most beautiful and rural scenery. We serve around 91,500 customers, with the majority of customers in the north of Powys being served by another water supplier. Our Elan Valley visitor centre is set in the heart of the area, stretching over 45,000 providing visitors with a range of activities for all the family to enjoy, as well as an Education centre. In July 2015, the estate achieved International Dark Sky Park status and become the first privately owned, but publicly accessible park in the world to do so.

The area is currently served by our Portis and Llyswen water treatment works. We’re investing in water projects across the region, including:

  • £5.7 million planned investment for upgrades to the water supply for customers in the Trecastle, Sennybridge, Defynnog, Aberdan, Battle, Llanddew, Lower Chapel, Upper Chapel, Merthyr Cynog, Llanspyddid, Libanus, and Heol Senni areas.

The area’s sewage is treated at Llandrindod.

We have 0 CSOs with EDM systems in the area.
