Our total reservoir storage is currently at 93% across the region.
We have seen a normal re-filling of reservoirs over the autumn and winter period. At this stage we do not envisage any restrictions on water use for our customers this year. We will look to manage our resources effectively as we approach the summer making full use of investment over the last few years to use our water resources as flexibly as we can.
However, it is still important that our customers use water wisely, and as part of our ‘Be Waterwise’ campaign, we are saying “use as much drinking water as you need, but please don’t waste it.”
Welsh Water have over 400 people working on leakage reduction, and we are confident of hitting this year’s leakage target.
We would request that customers let us know of any leaks on our system so that we can reduce any losses as soon as possible by calling our Leak Line on 0800 281 432 and we will fix it as soon as we can.

Whatever the weather using water wisely is one of the everyday activities we can all do to help combat the effects of climate change, our TOP TEN tips are:
Use a water butt to collect rainwater from your roof to use for garden watering. It will fill surprisingly quickly during a summer shower.
Use a hand held hose or watering can instead of a garden sprinkler, because a sprinkler uses as much water in one hour as a typical family uses in two days.
Check the weather forecast before watering garden plants – in case rain is on its way.
Consider buying plants that don’t need much watering.
The average 12 foot above ground swimming pool takes 6,000 litres of water to fill: that's enough to fill 75 baths. Careful management of your pool’s water quality will ensure you can enjoy it throughout the summer, without repeatedly emptying and refilling it.
Limit your shower to four minutes and save water, time and energy costs.
Don’t let the tap run when you’re brushing your teeth, shaving or washing your hands.
Fit a ‘hippo the water saver’ bag into your toilet cistern and save up to three litres of water every time you flush. Ring us on 0800 052 0138 for your free hippo bag.
Fix any leaking or dripping taps.
Only use your washing machine or dishwasher when they are fully loaded.
