We need to carry out essential work on the wastewater pipe in and around Maddox and Maddox Moor. We will be holding an event for local residents to hear more about our plans, meet our team and ask questions on Tuesday 7 May between 4pm and 6pm, at Freystrop Village Hall, Freystrop Cross, SA62 4LQ.

We intend to begin our work on 16 May.

The work will help to alleviate flooding during periods of heavy rainfall, improve water flow and limit blockages currently being experienced by customers. This will involve working on wastewater mains and manhole chambers.

We understand that our work causes inconvenience, but we always try to keep disruption to a minimum. While carrying out this work, we will do our best to maintain access for residents at all times.

We are replacing 5 kilometres of pipe on our water distribution network on the C1110 from Pencombe to Risbury road, Hereford. This work is being carried out to ensure we maintain the highest standard of water quality.

We have been working closely with Hereford Council Highways Department planning this work and in order to carry it out safely and quickly, we will need to close the road during this time.

Work will be carried out in two phases. The first will start at the Pemcombe war memorial and continue along the C1110 to the triangle at the junction with Gasbage, below Great Hegdon Farm. The second phase of work will continue from this junction along the C1110 as far as Sparrington Cottages. Diversionary routes will be clearly signposted during this time.

We plan to start on 3 June and it will take approximately 9 weeks to complete this work

We need to do some work on the wastewater system in Bynea. This project will help to alleviate flooding to properties during periods of heavy rainfall. Work will start week commencing 14 January and last for approximately 20 weeks, pending early land entry agreement. We will write to you again in the New Year to confirm this date.

Whilst we are doing this work there will be no impact on your water or wastewater services. We need to replace 1.2 kilometres of sewer on Berwick Road, Parc Berwig and Heol y Bwlch. Further work will also be carried out in private land to the rear of Parc Berwig and the Bynea Business Park. Whilst we work we will try to maintain access for residents at all times.

We have been liaising with Carmarthenshire highways department planning work that will take place in the highway. The majority of the scheme will be completed using give and take traffic management, however some sections of the road, particularly between numbers 13 and 15 Berwick Road, are extremely narrow and this is likely to lead to long delays at times

Footpaths on either side of the road will remain open for the first section of the scheme, but the one on the side of the Doctor's Surgery will be closed for a short period when we hvae to lay pipes underneath it.

Signs will be put in place advising the public that the footpath is closed and to please use other footpath on the other side of the road. There will also be a reduction in the number of car parking spaces on Castle Street while the wrok is being undertaken.

While work had been progressing well, our schedule has unfortunately been delayed by the discovery of features of archaeological interest when we have excavated in the road. These features have been fully assessed by archaeological specialist and they are happy for us to now continue with the remaining elements of the work. We anticipate work will now be completed by 24 May.

We will have two teams in place to try to minimise the time it will take us to carry out this work. Work will commence outside 43 Derwendeg Avenue and continue down this road until the junction with Cefn Lane. The second team will commence work opposite 16 Greenmeadow Close and continue along the footpath of the cul-de-sac, before meeting the junction with Cefn Lane. Both of these sections of work (Phase 1) will commence on 20th May.

There is a further section of pipe to be replaced along the footpath of Cefn Lane between the junctions at Greenmeadow Close and Derwendeg Avenue (Phase 2). This section of work has been programmed to take place within the school holidays to minimise disruption. Please see enclosed map for further details of working areas. This work will take 14 weeks in total to complete.
