Keeping you up to date

The overall £100 million investment programme is being progressed as quickly as possible, most of the projects are scheduled to be completed in the period 2010-2015, although the design work for several of the sites, including Mynydd Llandygai, is well advanced and construction is due to start here in the new year.

Alwen

New water treatment works - £3.5m, UV and chloramination

Work proposed
UV to be installed. Build new treatment stage to clarify the water before existing filtration

Benefits
UV deactivates any cryptosporidium oocysts in the water.
New treatment stage will deal with changing raw water conditions and consistently meet all water quality standards.
