Not many utility companies can say that they are unique. But Welsh Water can. Unlike other water companies, we have no shareholders to influence the way the company is run. We’re owned by Glas Cymru – a not-for-profit company. This means any profits that we make are re-invested back into the business for the benefit of our customers and employees.
As such we have a distinct company structure - we’re governed by members, who have no financial interest in the business.
What’s more, we are the sixth-largest water and sewage company in England and Wales – servicing over 1.3 million customers across Wales and some adjoining parts of England, with around 1,800 employees.
In essence, ours is a company based on trust, openess, respect, commitment and honesty. A company that our employees are proud to work for.
