Can you shower in 4 minutes

Can you shower in 4 minutes?

In Wales most people spend around 10 minutes in the shower every day. By reducing the time to 4 minutes, each person could save 13,000 litres of water a year and have a day and a half of extra free time a year.

Kriss Akabusi former British Olympic and World champion runner can do it in under 3 minutes. How long does it take you?

Environment and Sustainability Minister Jane Davidson

Environment and Sustainability Minister Jane Davidson, who is endorsing the campaign, says:

“Showering and other personal washing accounts for around a third of the water used in our homes. If we aim to spend less time in the shower we will use less water and less energy, therefore reducing our individual carbon footprints and helping to tackle the challenge of climate change.”

Take the four minute shower challange

Did you know that the average Welsh person spends around 10 minutes a day in the shower?

Cutting down to four-minutes would:
  • give you an extra day and a half of free time every year
  • save more than 13,000 litres of water a year - the equivalent of 162 bath fulls
  • save energy and reduce CO2 emissions
Can you do it in four?
